Emily & Mitch got MARRIED!!!

So, on Saturday, March 2-9 2.0.1.4. Emily and Mitch were married at the historic, wonderful & curious Berkeley Faculty Club.  Literally located in a “quiet, wooded glade”, it is fantastic & magical.  That day it poured rain which symbolizes good luck, abundance, and the possibility that one day we may all take long showers without feeling super guilty.  Obviously, Emily and I were really busy crafting all day.  We did a lot of crafts.

One of my top one favorite crafts is taking taxis, so that day we (and by we I do not mean Emily & me because she was busy getting ready to get married but a few guest stars joined in on this craft) did it big and ordered an extra gigantic SUV cab so we wouldn’t have to split up.  Co-dependant AND stylish at all times.

I was very excited to see Emily after the ceremony but so were a lot of other people like FAMILY MEMBERS WHATEVER, anyway I got our friend Kate’s husband Jason to take some pics of me waiting patiently for Emily to finish up because a pretty important part of crafting is being polite.

Girls Night

Recently Emily and I had a super chill night in at her apartment in Oakland.  We hit the big Whole Foods and, while purchasing the goods for din din, we saw that one of the CDs for sale at the check out was Justin Beiber’s acoustic album.  We were like, oh what?  Thank GOD there is an acoustic album!  Like, how did we not know about this & is it on Spotify.  For real.  It is.  FYI.

Anyway, we made a pretty delicious pasta salad with heirloom tomato slices drizzled in balsamic and an artichoke on the side.

Elizabethtown

Another great craft idea that Emily and I had was to post up on her couch and watch the 2005 masterpiece known as Elizabethtown.  Now, I had never seen this movie in theatres but I do remember being a wistful citizen of 2005 that longed only for her crush to to invite her on a movie date to see Elizabethtown.  Perhaps it was 2004 and the movie was Crazy/Beautiful…or maybe it was 2003…who keeps track of these things anyway, livejournal??

Okay.  So Elizabethtown is a movie written & directed by Cameron Crowe, starring Kirsten Dunst, Orlando Bloom, Susan Sarandon, and Alec Baldwin.  Randomly, Jessica Biel shows up too. 
Orlando Bloom invents a really ugly shoe and retreats to Kentucky sans girlfriend, job, and relationship with Alec Baldwin to attend to the funeral of his father.  On the way down he meets the spunky and compassionate Kirsten Dunst.  She takes a “picture” of him by making her hands mimic the shape of a camera and winking at the same time she mimes the shutter click.  So that, yeah.  Anyway.
When I saw that Susan Sarandon was in it, immediately I became suspicious… why would she do a movie like this? What? Anyway my hopes and prayers were answered during the climactic funeral scene when she gives a speech (performs a monologue, whatever) that is so so good.  I love her.  Watch the movie for her big part but don’t YouTube it or whatever because that is cheating.
